Blind Assessment
Deep, balanced, chocolaty. Rose, dark chocolate, raisin, almond in aroma and cup. Bright, savory-sweet structure; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The rose-like flowers intensify in the cup and linger in a crisp, drying finish.
Notes
Produced by Juan Diego de la Cerda of Finca El Socorro entirely of the Laurina variety of Arabica, and processed by the traditional washed method. Laurina, also called Bourbon Pointu, is a rare selection of Bourbon with small, pointed beans, small, conical trees and naturally low caffeine content. Willoughby’s Coffee & Tea is a pioneer specialty coffee roaster established in the early 1980s that has gracefully and successfully moved with the times and now offers a menu of extremely refined small-lot, single-origin coffees. Visit www.willoughbyscoffee.com or call 800-388-8400 for more information.
Bottom Line
A naturally low-caffeine coffee with a sweet-savory structure and pleasing floral and chocolate notes.
