Blind Assessment
Evaluated as espresso. Deep, rich, chocolaty. Dried apricot, dark chocolate, hazelnut, molasses, cedar in aroma and small cup. Satiny smooth mouthfeel; crisp, sweetly nut-toned finish. Chocolate leads in three parts milk, followed by notes of molasses and hazelnut.
Notes
Produced by Verónica Lantan Vela de Acajabon at Finca El General from trees of the Typica and Bourbon varieties of Arabica. This is a wet-processed or “washed” coffee, meaning the fruit skin and pulp were removed from the beans immediately after harvesting and before drying. Acatenango is the name of a coffee-growing municipality as well as a famous volcano overlooking the Antigua Valley of Guatemala. Kakalove Café is a nano-roaster located in the small city of Chia-Yi in Taiwan that strives to procure and roast the finest quality coffee. Bottom Line
A friendly, cocoa- and nut-toned Guatemala espresso, both as straight shot and in cappuccino-scaled milk.
