Blind Assessment
Balanced structure, complex and rather unusual aromatics. Orangy citrus, butter, roasted nut, lush flowers, a hint of sweet chocolate in aroma and cup. Crisp, juicy acidity; lightly syrupy, lively mouthfeel. The finish is gently rich, buttery, sweet-toned.
Notes
This lot is comprised entirely of the much admired, bold-bean Pacamara variety of Arabica, a cross between the giant-beaned Maragogipe variety and Pacas, a selection of the heirloom Bourbon. C.O.E. #7 indicates that this lot of Pacamara was the seventh-place coffee in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition for Guatemala in which hundreds of green coffees compete. Coffea Roasterie is a South Dakota-based wholesale and retail roaster, offering a small but refined selection of mostly single-origin coffees. Visit
Who Should Drink It
Those who buy this coffee for the novelty of the very large bean size will be further rewarded by a quietly original aroma/flavor complex: the butter and nut suggestions are complicated by juicy citrus and lush flowers.
