Blind Assessment
Crisply chocolaty and nut-toned, balanced. Baking chocolate, hazelnut butter, date, pink grapefruit zest, thyme in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with gently bright acidity; crisp, velvety mouthfeel. Chocolaty, richly nutty finish.
Notes
Produced by Ovidio Ramirez of Finca El Guachipilin from trees of the Bourbon, Pache, Caturra and Catuai varieties of Arabica, and processed by the traditional washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). Oak & Bond is a specialty retail and wholesale coffee roaster based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company’s name combines “oak,” a reference to its first coffee, a barrel-aged release, and “bond,” referring to the founders’ happy marriage. For more information, visit www.oakandbondcoffee.com.
Bottom Line
A balanced, richly chocolaty, sweetly nutty washed-process Guatemala cup.
