Blind Assessment
Deep, complexly pungent. Concord grape, black currant, flowers, dark chocolate in aroma and cup. Richly brisk, floral-toned acidity; lightly syrupy, buoyant mouthfeel. Chocolate in particular lingers in a resonant finish.
Notes
This lot was produced exclusively from trees of Kenya’s two premier varieties of Arabica, the great, Bourbon-related SL28 and SL34.Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world's most elegant and distinctive coffees. Barefoot Coffee is an award-winning small-batch roasting company with a roastery, two cafés, a mobile coffee bar and robust coffee education programs in California’s Silicon Valley.
