Blind Assessment
High-toned and exhilarating. Complex flowers (lavender, violet, saffron), cocoa, blood orange, sandalwood, a savory hint of ginseng in aroma and cup. Richly and delicately bright acidity; light, silky mouthfeel. Cocoa and ginseng notes in particular carry into a deep, savory-edged finish.
Notes
This coffee was produced by Ninety Plus, the admired Panama- and Ethiopia-based producer of small-lot, high-end coffees. It was processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying); Ethiopia coffees processed with this method typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity, with a particular emphasis on floral notes. Barrington Coffee is an artisan roaster dedicated to elite coffees, fresh delivery and roasting that foregrounds the coffee and not the roast. Visit www.barringtoncoffee.com or call 800-528-0998 for more information.
Who Should Drink It
The intricate, fragrant overlapping of sweet floral and savory herb tendencies may particularly appeal to those who enjoy complex aperitifs and digestifs.
