Blind Assessment
Crisply sweet-toned, balanced, subtly complex. Cocoa, plum, peach, hints of dusk flowers and pungent cedar in aroma and cup. Gently bright, juicy acidity; light but silky mouthfeel. The layered, delicate flavor fades slightly in the dryish finish.
Notes
Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world's most elegant and distinctive coffees. This lot was produced entirely from trees of Kenya’s premier varieties of Arabica, the great, Bourbon-related SL28 and SL34. Gavagai is a Taiwanese one-location, in-store roaster specializing in siphon-brewed single-origin coffees and single-origin espressos.
Who Should Drink It
Kenya devotees. A finely nuanced, quietly original variation of the dry yet sweet, crisply layered floral and fruit Kenya cup.
