Blind Assessment
Sweetly delicate yet deeply pungent: fragrant, intricate. Red clover honey, black currant, dark chocolate, fresh-cut pine, violet-like flowers in aroma and cup. Richly and roundly sweet-tart in structure; velvety yet lively and light-footed in mouthfeel. Flowers in particular carry into a long, deeply flavor-saturated finish.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers from trees of the Ruiru 11, Batian, SL28 and SL34 varities of Arabica. Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world’s most elegant and distinctive coffees. Topéca Coffee is an artisan roaster with three café locations and a roastery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visit www.topecacoffee.com or call 918-398-8022 for more information.
Bottom Line
An elegant and complete Kenya; pungent, delicate yet deep. Think fine red table wines.
