Blind Assessment
Balanced, richly sweet, spice-toned. Apricot, baker’s chocolate, lilac, coriander, fresh-cut cedar in aroma and cup. Deep, sweet-savory structure with bright acidity; crisp, satiny mouthfeel. The finish is paradoxically dry yet juicy, leading with resonant notes of apricot and fresh-ground coriander in the short and cocoa-toned sweet florals in the long.
Notes
Produced by the Archdiocese of Nyeri from trees of the SL28 and SL34 varieties of Arabica. Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world’s most elegant and distinctive coffees. Founded in 2015, the Greater Goods mission is to enrich the lives of coffee-drinkers through passion, creativity, innovation and commitment to the consistency of the specialty coffee the company roasts, and through the local causes supported with its proceeds. Bottom Line
A thrilling ride of a Kenya: balanced, deep, rich, and intriguingly spice-toned.
