Blind Assessment
Richly sweet-savory. Date, grapefruit zest, molasses, cedar, cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Bittersweet structure with brisk acidity; full, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The finish centers around notes of cocoa-toned date and cedar with crisp cocoa underneath.
Notes
Produced by members of the Kii Factory Co-op and comprised of coffees from trees of the long-established SL28 and SL34 varieties of Arabica. Processed by a particularly meticulous Kenya variation on the traditional wet or “washed” method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). Manchill Roasteria is a Taiwan-based especially coffee roaster and e-commerce store with an eye toward value. Visit www.manchill.com.tw for more information.
Bottom Line
A quietly confident, deep-toned Kenya — crisply sweet and pleasingly complicated by bittersweet citrus zest.
