Blind Assessment
Rich, deep dark-roast character. Raisiny dark chocolate and gently scorched cedar dominate in aroma and cup. Relatively light in body, but smooth in mouthfeel. Sweet, raisiny short finish, with just a hint of roasty astringency in the long.
Notes
This blend is Rainforest Alliance certified, in this case meaning a minimum of 30% of the blend components were produced following sustainable ecological and socio-economic criteria developed by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a coalition of independent, environment-focused non-governmental organizations. Caribou Coffee is a large (second largest in the U.S. after Starbucks) retail roasting chain based in the upper Middle West whose rather irreverent motto "Life is short. Stay awake for it" belies a serious approach to coffee. Visit
Who Should Drink It
A balanced blend for those who enjoy dark-roast character but not bitter extremes.
