Blind Assessment
A remarkably sweet, spicy aromatic wood note – think sandalwood – leads the usual intense array of Gesha aromatic excitement: complex floral notes, honey, crisp baker’s chocolate, tartly ripe raspberry. Round, rich acidity; lively, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Chocolate in particular surfaces in a long, balanced, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes
Coffees from trees of the botanical variety "Gesha" or "Geisha" grown on farmer Price Peterson's Hacienda La Esmeralda in Panama have consistently attracted record-breaking prices over the past several years. With its long, boat-shaped beans and distinctive floral and chocolate cup, the Esmeralda Panama Gesha continues as one of the world's most celebrated coffees. "Mario" refers to the area of the farm where this particular lot was grown, and "San Jose" the time of year when it was harvested, in this case during the month of March when regionally popular patron saint, San Jose has his feast day. Roasted at PT’s Coffee, where the motto is “without the love, it’s just coffee.” Visit
