Blind Assessment
Evaluated in brew bag format with a steeping time of 5 minutes in 8 ounces of water. Crisply nutty and chocolaty. Brown sugar, hazelnut, baking chocolate, lily, oak in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with gentle, round acidity; crisp, satiny-smooth mouthfeel. Quiet but confident finish centered around notes of baking chocolate and hazelnut.
Notes
A single-origin Burundi processed by the traditional washed method (fruit skin and pulp removed before drying). Packaged in brew bag format by Steeped Coffee. Red Bay Coffee Roasters was founded in 2014 by Keba Konte, a renowned artist and successful food entrepreneur with deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area specialty coffee and hospitality industry. Red Bay seeks to create unity by hiring and serving people of all backgrounds, and striving to be diverse and inclusive of those who have traditionally been left out of the specialty coffee industry: people of color, the formerly incarcerated, women and people with disabilities. Bottom Line
A familiar, comforting Burundi in brew bag format, sweet and nut-toned with a very appealing mouthfeel.
