Blind Assessment
(As brewed in a Keurig B70 Platinum single-serve brewing device using a "K-Cup" capsule to produce a 6-ounce serving). Roasted nut, chocolate, banana-like fruit, night-blooming flowers in aroma and, more distinctly, in the cup. Round, softly tart acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor simplifies but sustains in a clean, balanced finish.
Notes
This blend is composed of coffees certified organically grown and Fair Trade, the latter meaning the green beans were purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Decaffeinated using water only, no solvents. Keurig/Green Mountain, formerly Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, pioneered single-serve capsule brewing in the United States with its Keurig brewing system, and remains one of the country’s leading large specialty roasters, offering a particularly wide-ranging variety of origins and roast styles. Who Should Drink It
An almost miraculously good decaffeinated coffee for Keurig owners; the gently lively acidity, smooth mouthfeel and quietly complex flavor are particularly impressive. No raw nut or woody decaf notes that we could detect, with the only (almost hypothetical) decaffeination-related flaw a slight fading in aroma and finish.
