Blind Assessment
Intense but balanced; expansively complex. Honeysuckle, very ripe, perhaps candied tangerine, papaya, crisply nut-toned cacao nib in aroma and cup. Delicate, sweetly brisk acidity; light, very silky and buoyant mouthfeel. The ripe citrus and sweet papaya in particular carry into a rich finish.
Notes
This coffee blend includes an auction lot of Esmeralda Gesha (also Geisha) from Hacienda La Esmeralda, the producer that first introduced the celebrated Gesha variety of Arabica to the world, and a lot of dried-in-the-fruit or “natural” Gesha from Los Lajones, another respected and award-winning Panama farm. With its generally elongated beans and distinctive floral and crisp, often chocolaty cup, the Gesha variety continues to distinguish itself as one of the world’s most unique coffees. Compelling & Rich is uncompromisingly dedicated to offering only small lots of selectively sourced fine single-origin coffees freshly roasted. Who Should Drink It
The combination of a very distinguished wet-processed Gesha and a dried-in-the-fruit or natural Gesha nets an original high-end holiday blend that should both engage aficionados and pleasingly surprise the uninitiated.
