Blind Assessment
Quiet, sweet-savory. Green apple, brown sugar, cedar, white peppercorn in aroma and cup. Brisk, juicy acidity; plump mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates in a crisp, dry finish.
Notes
Rwanda’s impressive potential as fine coffee producer has come to fruition over the past two decades, owing to the industry of its growers, generous support from international aid agencies, and the commitment of North American specialty coffee roasters. Purchased as whole bean in a 12-ounce foil bag with one-way degassing valve at a Whole Foods location in northern California. This sample was roasted and packaged at Toms’ Los Angeles, California facility. The company’s business model includes a donation to charity with every purchase. Who Should Drink It
Those who value a brisk rendition of tart fruit and pungent, peppery cedar notes, as well as coffee drinkers interested in supporting this company’s philanthropic efforts directed toward delivering clean water to those who have none or little.
