Blind Assessment
Richly sweet with savory undertones. Mulberry, rhododendron, agave syrup, oak, a hint of thyme in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with round, gentle acidity; velvety-smooth mouthfeel. The quiet finish is carried by notes of mulberry, rhododendron and thyme.
Notes
From the Tumba washing station or wet mill operated by Venustre Mugraneza. Produced from trees of the Jackson variety of arabica, a local strain of the admired Bourbon variety. Wet-processed or “washed,” meaning the fruit skin and pulp were removed from the beans immediately after harvesting. Big Creek Coffee Roasters is a small, quality-oriented batch roaster located in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley. Visit www.bigcreekcoffeeroasters.com or call 406-375-7508 for more information.
Bottom Line
A rich, pleasing Rwanda coffee with berry notes, vanilla-like florals, and an appealing hint of sweet herbs.
