Blind Assessment
Tart but deeply sweet: honey, fir, lightly roasted almond, sour cherry, hints of freshly turned earth. Richly tart acidity; smoothly syrupy mouthfeel. Round, deep finish resonates with the lemony cherry note in particular.
Notes
This coffee is Fair Trade certified, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Sumatras like this one achieve their unusual cup character mainly through unorthodox processing and drying methods unique to Indonesia. This is a particularly (and skillfully) light-roasted presentation of this famous coffee type. Based in Hong Kong, Fresh is a micro roaster committed to offering artisanal. small batch coffees freshly roasted to order. Visit www.hkcoffee.com for more information.
Who Should Drink It
Not a purist’s coffee, but a very pure example of its type, in which unorthodox tart fruit and earth notes animate a coffee with a profound sweetness and balance.
