Blind Assessment
Rich-toned, crisply sweet. Apricot, honeysuckle-like flowers, cocoa nib, fresh-cut cedar, maple syrup in aroma and cup. Sweet-tart structure with bright, juicy acidity; crisp, velvety mouthfeel. The finish consolidates to cocoa-toned apricot notes with an undercurrent of cedar.
Notes
Produced by farmer Tesfaye Bekele from largely indigenous varieties of Arabica long grown in the Guji area, about 40 kilometers southeast of the famous Yirgacheffe region. This is a wet-processed or “washed” coffee, meaning the fruit skin and pulp were removed from the beans immediately after harvesting and before drying. Founded in 2013, Voyage Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster with three coffee shops in Beijing, China. The company’s slogan is “Our Voyage, Your Coffee.” Follow Voyage on its Wechat public account, voyagecoffee, or call (86)18501929206 for more information.
Bottom Line
A classic Ethiopia cup: juicy-bright with leading notes of stone fruit and cocoa nib.
