Blind Assessment
Richly fruit-toned, deeply chocolaty. Dried raspberry, dark chocolate, pink peppercorn, amber in aroma and cup. Sweet-tart structure with juicy acidity; delicate, silky-smooth mouthfeel. The finish, centered around chocolate and berry notes, is rich, resonant and long.
Notes
Produced by Hsu Ting-Yeh of Zhuo-Wu Farm in the Alishan growing distrct of Taiwan entirely of the famous Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by the natural method, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with washed coffees. Kakalove Café is a nano-roaster located in the small city of Chia-Yi in Taiwan that strives to procure and roast the finest quality coffee. Visit www.kakalovecafe.com.tw or email [email protected] for more information.
Bottom Line
A gorgeous Taiwan Geisha driven by dried red berry notes at the top of the profile and deep, rich chocolate notes near the bottom; a complex and exciting cup.
