Blind Assessment
Pungently sweet aroma: ripe lemony citrus, backgrounded nut. Round, soft acidity, medium body, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Nut moves forward in the cup, complicated pleasingly by dry berry, lemon, flowers, fir. Sweet-toned finish, with some flavor persistence.
Notes
Located in the south western foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro, near the village of Masama, are Kibo and Kikafu the two estates that make up Tudeley Estates. This sample consists entirely of peaberries, a kind of bean that results when the coffee fruit develops only a single, oval bean rather than the usual pair of flat-sided beans. Peaberries produce a somewhat different (often better) cup than normal beans from the same crop, from which they may or may not be separated during grading. Atomic Café is a retail and wholesale coffee roaster on the North Shore of Massachusetts with locations in Beverly and Marblehead, Massachusetts. Who Should Drink It
A nicely balanced East Africa cup, gentle, quietly complex, with a hint of Kenya black-currant richness.
