Blind Assessment
Deep-toned, richly earth-sweet. Perique tobacco, preserved Meyer lemon, fresh fig, tea rose, myrrh in aroma and cup. Gently bright, balanced acidity; very full, viscous mouthfeel. Integrated, harmonious, floral-toned finish.
Notes
This exceptional coffee was selected as the No. 4 coffee on Coffee Review’s list of the Top 30 Coffees of 2024. Produced by smallholding farmers and processed at Mahal Aqeequl Drying Station by the natural method (sun-dried in the whole fruit); imported by Cafe Imports. Chuck’s Roast was founded by Chuck Patton, founder of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, to bring rare, often elusive coffees to discerning coffee lovers. Bottom Line
A beautiful expression of Yemen’s meticulous sun-drying process that reveals layers of complex spice, fruit, earth and floral tones — a fruity tobacco note further complicates and elevates this cup.
